No matter your music taste P-rallel will have a sound that will transport you to whatever sort of disco you desire. And during these current times, I think that's what we all need. Personally, my upbringing meant I was constantly surrounded by Jungle music which makes "Charmer" ft Sam Wise up there with one of my favourites. The bass takes me back to the sweaty overcrowded jungle raves in Elephant & Castle at the much missed Coronet, or as a kid in the back of my mums green Golf GTI in the summer, feeling my bones rattle to 'chopper' on the way home from school.
Having been surrounded by music from the start the West London artist honed his craft from his multi-genre DJ father. Being a DJ from a young age at almost every and any party he could get on the decks at, unsurprisingly he soon made a name from himself. NTs gave him his own monthly radio show, Jeshi, Slowthai and Lava La Rue made him their touring DJ and lets not forget his role with Elevation/Meditation. The Underground hip-hop collective featuring Lord Apex, Finn Foxell and Louis Culture that brought p-rallel to my attention.
His plan to be the 'go to man for anything that requires soul and groove' seems to be working as he released 4 singles last year featuring Greentea Peng, Louis Culture, Juls and Rachel Chinouriri. Most of which receiving over 1 million plays. Alongside his very own 'Soulboy' album. All during a pandemic. And by the looks of things the pandemic isn't slowing him down in 2021 either. He released a song with Lauren Faith at the end of January and another release just last week with KiLLOWEN which is featured on our playlist!
P-rallel is a mark above many DJ's and producers in my eyes. Having the skill to work with such an array of artists. Playing in all sorts of venues from the Horse & Groom in Shoreditch to Underworld In Camden and being able to captivate the audience all the same. But what makes me wonder if it is a skill he has honed or just pure talent are his producing skills. Being able to hop from genre-to-genre and for it to still be just as good as, or better, than producers and DJ's in that field. P-rallel could quite easily make a name for himself in any one Genre, like most artists. But he is diverse, unique and un-paralleled.
